living to die

up with the sun

down with the moon

man on the run

from desk to saloon

like sisyphus

and his rolling stone

leaking blood and pus

just to catch a bone

living to die

but dying to live

watching time fly by

flour through a sieve

they say good things come

to those who wait

but these tombstones tell me

that’s a mistake

life is a journey

a road to nowhere

without it there’s nothing

to live for out there

looking for purpose

takes a life’s worth of time

that’s why so many find it

right as they die

the grind is a curse

but it fills the purse

til our name comes up

on the chart of a nurse

death by exhaustion

the doctor said

wealth put on auction

as the will was read
